1827 and the people of Greece were locked in their deadly battle to achieve independence from their Ottoman masters, who were being supported by their Egyptian allies. Britain, France and Russia were determined to attempt to put a stop to the fighting, as there were many atrocities being perpetrated on the Greek people, and required both sides to enter into a Treaty. To enforce this, The British Government had the Mediterranean Fleet in the area, and France and Russia agreed to send warships of their own. At Admiralty, Lord Maltravers requests Giles Courtenay to take a small squadron to the Peloponnese to support the Admiral in command of the Mediterranean Fleet, Vice-admiral Codrington 'Go it Ned', but first he had another small job he wished Giles Courtenay to undertake. The Dey of Algiers, it seemed, was getting up to his old tricks of taking white people for slavery purposes, and he was choosing rich people, even Aristocrats, thinking that the Royal Navy did not have the means to threaten him any longer, and this time, he had found another, more subtle way to take his victims.....Edward Courtenay is now in command of a larger steam-ship, RAPID, and Timothy is a Marines officer in a frigate. Both ships sail under their father's flag into the fight against the Dey...and then NAVARINO
