Lugan’s too old for this shit.
His back hurts, his knees ache, and he can’t stop bloody coughing. But when Mom’s emissary comes to him, telling him that Ecko’s still alive, he agrees to a Last Hurrah. Yeah, he’ll drop a load of psychotropics and go back to the Varchinde.
He thinks it’ll be easy. A guided Shamanic pathwalking and some traditional fantasy fun. All he really has to do is find the Bard, and how hard can that be?
But as Lugan’s trip begins, nothing is as he remembers. The Varchinde's cities are in ruins, the trade-roads abandoned, and madness covers all. Can he survive, and can he understand it all enough to fight his way to its heart?
Or will a very old friend betray him before he does?
A portal fantasy mash-up, this book follows on from the ECKO trilogy, Ecko Rising, Ecko Burning and Ecko Endgame, but can be read as a standalone.
Genre: Fantasy
