Trauma and pain floated in those lost, miserable eyes for anyone to see. He didn’t know what either of their stories were, but he felt they were each in the right place.

In the calming waters of Lake Michigan lies a healing haven, an island designed as a sanctuary for the heartbroken. Those who lost their partners, either to death or through a divorce, seek solace, spiritual support, and a chance for a new life. Time slows, wounds heal, and love blooms again on this island. Individuals, each bearing the weight of their pasts, make their way to this haven. Brought together by grief, they step onto the island's shores, with the whispers of their heartache drowned by the soothing waves. The island and its activities work their subtle magic as days turn into weeks. The visitors find laughter and camaraderie in shared experiences, their sorrow gradually replaced by hope. Amidst the serene landscapes, they bare their souls, forming bonds of friendship as enduring as the island.

Jade's first night on the island is marred by a sudden trigger when she stumbles upon a community movie screening featuring one of her old films, an unsettling moment that goes unnoticed by others until Calvin connects the dots and rushes after her. On the tranquil shores of the island, Jade has found solace in the therapy of painting, and she urges Calvin to explore his own unique art form. Despite their initially contrasting personalities, these two individuals discover an unexpected bond and a profound sense of camaraderie in the serene haven of the island, forever altering their perspectives on life.

Calvin's protective instincts kick in as he recognizes Jade at the outdoor movie, deeply empathizing with the way her career and current mental well-being are entangled in her past, a situation eerily reminiscent of his own hurdles on the path to healing. Motivated by a newfound determination to ensure her comfort, he inadvertently finds his own discomfort receding, yielding unexpected results. As they both explore fresh opportunities on the island, Jade's external world continues to intrude, but a supportive community rallies around her, uniting to provide her with the serene respite she desperately needs amid the island's tranquil surroundings.

Surviving the island takes an unforeseen turn, sparking a surprising shift in their relationship dynamics. However, as they reenter the outside world, the question remains whether their shared island memories will guide them toward each other or lead them down divergent paths.
