The Golden Maze

(1972)
A novel by

Most of us have at one time or another imagined ourselves living in a castle - and for most of us such a sitution remains a pipe-dream. But it really happened to Cindy, and when, quite out of the blue, she learned that someone had left her a real castle - tiny Claife Castle, in the beautiful Lake District - she could hardly believe her luck. But there were conditions attached to the bequest which slowly but surely began to take all the magic out of the situation. There were two men - Peter Baxter and his cousin David - who were going to get very involved in Cindy's new life, whether with happy or not so happy results it was difficult to see. Was her inheritance really going to be such a blessing to Cindy after all?
