"Quill's Adventures in Humanfolkland" is the fifth in the Quill Hedgehog series. It begins when Horatio Fitzworthy, the kindly aristocratic cat, is kidnapped by the villainous alleycat, Mungo Brown. Mungo takes Horatio back to Humanfolkland where he's working for a coven of witches, intending to put a horrible spell on him. But the witches take to Horatio and make him their pet safe from Mungo's clutches.
Disguised as a Humanfolk, Mungo has built up an industrial empire and become very wealthy at a great cost to the environment. Nevertheless, he's still very much under the witches' control and when he upsets their leader, she turns him to stone!
And so he would have remained had not the Great Beyonders set off to free Horatio under the guidance of the wise Hoot Owl. His scientific knowledge is more than a match for the witches' magic and all turns out well at the end. Mungo's business empire collapses and Horatio returns safely to the Great Beyond. The message of goodness and conservation the Animalfolk proclaim should not be lost on Humankind.
