If our books were chocolate, they'd be wasabi flavored - sweet and hot.

Who are we?

We're two sisters, Susan and Kate, who live on opposite sides of the world and decided after a year of closed borders to write romance novels together!

Australian born and bred, Kate moved to Germany in 2001 and has been there ever since. Between us, we have five children and three dogs and we've always shared a love of reading, passed down to us through our mother and grandparents. Our pseudonym, Mary Waterford, honors our maternal grandmother (one of her favorite authors was Maeve Binchy!)

We both believe that reading - regardless of the genre - offers an escape from real life; whether it's chasing criminals with Eve Dallas or fighting for our lives with Katniss or riding in a carriage through Regency London with Mr. Beaumaris, reading is more important now, in these crazy times, than ever.

Our goal is to offer our readers that same escape, with relatable, loveable characters and locations that take you out of the lounge room and into the quiet sleepy beach town of Blessed Inlet, or into the hustle and bustle of New York City.
