Cybernetic Resurgence

(2023)
A novel by

Initiating an explosion, Angeline Castillo, a teenager of seventeen years, meets her demise as she manages to escape the ÆRA research facility and its nightmarish horrors... at least for the time being. Several hours later, she regains consciousness - filled with fear and utterly alone, back within the confines of the laboratory. To her astonishment, half of her skull is now adorned with cybernetic implants, reversing the fatal damage she had sustained. This upgrade, while a boon in some ways, carries with it an unexpected burden. While technopathic abilities are undeniably impressive, having a disembodied voice within your mind that can read your thoughts, peer through your eyes, and speak in the voice of your deceased brother? Not quite as impressive.

Nonetheless, the voice goes by the name of Archie and claims to possess unrestricted access to the entire facility. They decide to forge a pact: Angeline will fight her way towards him, and in return, he'll aid her in staying alive. Yet, hidden beneath their alliance are concealed truths. Secrets that could jeopardize not only their friendship but Archie's very existence and Angeline's core identity. As they draw nearer to one another, their fates become increasingly intertwined.
