Nobody who saw Miss Amity and her cat Jeffy walking in the town on a Saturday morning could have believed that in the shopping bag, hidden under the washing powder and cat food, was Miss Amity's burglary kit. It was only Jeffy who knew the terrible truth. When the old lady takes in a stray kitten, Little Lew, who turns out to be a perfect partner in crime, all Jeffy's attempts to reform his mistress are foiled.
