Secrets and Suspects: After finding a skeleton while visiting the properties that she’d inherited from her aunt, Mona Kelly, Fenella Woods is only a bit worried about what she might find when she visits the safe deposit boxes that Mona had in banks around the Isle of Man. Having said that, she’s still shocked when she walks into one of the banks just as a body is found in one of the vaults.

Nigel Corlett was the bank’s manager, but no one can explain how he’d ended up dead inside a time-locked vault. There is no shortage of suspects, as it becomes clear that Nigel was involved with many different women, some of whom seem to have been a bit obsessed with the handsome man.

Can Fenella help the police work out how Nigel got into the vault after hours? Can they work out exactly how many women he was actually seeing? And can Fenella persuade the owners of the Seaview in Ramsey to let her best friend, Shelly, have her wedding reception there when they’re supposed to be closed for the season?

Theaters and Threats: When Fenella learns that her friend, Breesha, is going to be in a play, she reserves a box at the theater for herself and her friends. The show turns out to be a complicated mess, but even worse is the body surrounded by blood in the next box.
Fenella is relieved to learn that the body is just a mannequin, but things take a more dramatic turn the next day at a different theater as a man falls to his death just before the curtain is meant to go up.

Threatening letters, a reclusive playwright, and quite possibly the worst play ever written combine to complicate Fenella’s life.

Can she help her boyfriend, CID Inspector Daniel Robinson, work out who is behind the anonymous letters? Can they find the person responsible for the deadly accident? And is there any way that Three Gentlewomen from Bologna will ever make any sense at all?

Umbrellas and Undertakers: All Fenella Woods wants is to have a nice lunch with her fiancé, Police Inspector Daniel Robinson. When the café’s owner manages to start a fire, though, things get complicated very quickly. As if the fire isn’t enough for Daniel to investigate, a local undertaker wants to make a deathbed confession.

Alfred Beck claims that while he was arranging for Kent Thomas’s funeral, he overheard Kent’s wife talking about how she’d managed to murder him. Kent’s been dead and buried for over ten years, his death attributed to a heart attack. Of course, Tammy Thomas denies having done any such thing, but the police still exhume the body. When it turns out that Kent was poisoned, Daniel finds himself in the middle of another murder investigation.

Can Fenella help Daniel work out who killed Kent Thomas? Can she discover the truth about Karl Carlson, the man behind the café fire? And can she go anywhere on the island without bumping into someone involved in one case or the other?
