Everyone is happy to see the great Miss Know It All when she returns to Butterfield Square and the Good Day Home for Girls. But she's come back for a reason: she has a mystery to solve. She has received in the mail a strange package, carefully wrapped, with no return address. Inside are many small, brightly colored objects that look like small stones. What are they? Who sent them? While Miss Lavender, Miss Plum, and the 28 girls try to solve the mystery, Mr. Not So Much, the mean director of the orphanage, accidentally swallows one of the stones. Suddenly, grumpy, penny-pinching Mr. Not So Much turns on all the lights, builds a roaring fire, and calls for singing, laughing and strawberry tarts. Miss Know It All knows those weird stones are Other-Way-Around pills and they were meant for her. Someone is trying to turn Miss Know It All into Miss Know Nothing!
