It is 1936 and Rose, Countess of Belvedere, and her husband, together with Lady Lavinia Sedgwick, board the Riviera Express for what promises to be a restful holiday on the Devonshire coast. To their shock and surprise, far from being leisurely, their journey soon proves to be an eventful one, culminating in the sudden death of one of the passengers in their railway carriage. It rapidly becomes clear that things, including her fellow passengers, are not what they seem. Rose is called upon, once again, to use all her detective skills to help to identify the murderer.
