From Saxon Andrew comes the second book in the Assassins Guild-Defending the Colonies. The Aliens invading the colonies have called off the general invasion. It appears another civilization has been discovered scouting them and their fear has led them to send their major fleets to the Large Magellanic Cloud to find out what threat this civilization poses. The six colonies that have been previously invaded will remain under the alien's control while this issue is resolved.

The Colony Fleet is helpless to remove the invading warships and unable to defend the colonies that have fallen under their control. The colonies have no defenses and things look bad. However, there are tens of thousands of assassins on the invaded planets and they've been offered payment for each alien they're able to kill. The aliens are feeling confident but are about to discover that the assassins have them right where they want them.

Earth knows that there is no civilization scouting the aliens. One small Earth ship managed to destroy one of the alien's giant warships and they assumed there had to be more of them in the Large Magellanic Cloud. Something must happen quickly to convince the aliens they're being scouted or their giant fleets will turn on the colonies and Earth; neither are prepared to take them on.

Three small warships are quickly dispatched to the LMC with orders to deceive the aliens into believing they are under attack from an advanced civilization. It sounds impossible, but the three ships are under the command of one of the Guild's highest-ranked assassins. The impossible odds don't bother Adam Talent He vows to live or die defending the colonies.

The action starts fast and doesn't slow down in The Assassins Guild, Defending the Colonies. Sit back and enjoy the ride, as Earth does everything possible to defend mankind.

Excerpt: Defending the Colonies
Three minutes later, Jan activated the long-range scanners. Her eyes flew open, "TAL, I HAVE HUNDREDS OF LARGE PHASE FIELDS MOVING IN ON US IN A GLOBULAR FORMATION! THEY HAVE US SURROUNDED AND THE GLOBE IS SHRINKING QUICKLY AROUND US!!"

Tal looked up at the monitor and saw that the trap had been laid perfectly. The ShaKa was surrounded and the huge warships were closing in at high speed. He pulled back on the steering wheel and saw hundreds of additional warships were moving in outside the globe to fill in the gaps.

Rachael yelled, "ADMIRAL! PICK A SHIP AND FLY DIRECTLY TOWARD IT NOW!!" Tal hesitated and saw that the ShaKa's superior speed wouldn't be enough to get out between the gaps. DO IT, NOW, ADMIRAL!!" Rachael screamed.

Tal turned the steering wheel and flew at maximum speed toward the closest alien warship. He bore down on it and saw eight alien warships move in to close his escape route. He saw a huge cloud of energy pulses leave the ShaKa directly toward the giant closing in on him. He felt the vibrations of multiple missiles being launched and saw their phase fields activating as they left the launch tubes. "FOLLOW THE CLOUD OF PULSES IN AND TURN ABOVE THEM WHEN YOU'RE FIVE MILES FROM THE WARSHIP!!" Tal fell in behind the cloud of energy pulses and used the joystick to avoid overrunning them. The eight alien-warships surrounding the warship were knocked out of their phase fields by the missiles and instantly fell back. Tal stayed behind the energy pulses and saw the warship growing at an incredible speed. The alien ship attempted to evade the pulses by diving under them, but the alien ship's phase field was knocked out and fifty-energy-pulses hit the ship's upper hull causing a massive explosion. Tal pulled back on the steering wheel and the ShaKa roared over the top of the stricken warship in an instant. The second globe formation wasn't completely formed, and he flew through a large gap in their formation, went to maximum speed, and disappeared from the Alien's scanners.
