Queen's Move

(2022)
(The second book in the Laim-Saga series)
A novel by

Intrigues. Persecutions. Unequal combat for survival.

We live in a wreck that can’t exactly be called a spaceship, and we’re fighting for our lives. But hey, that’s nothing new. Tomorrow we might be dead, but what the heck. Until then, I am a queen.
Some advice for if you happen to find yourself queen.

First—should you find yourself with the opportunity to release some Tusneldas from cruel captivity by exhibiting human feelings, don’t. They tend to punch your husband, start a coup and steal your kingdom.

Second—as a queen, you have to be diplomatic. Shooting first, asking questions later is effective, but not diplomatic. It also means that you have to hold long speeches without really saying anything. “You can all do it!” is a very effective speech, but not diplomatic.

Third—if you meet the man of your lonely nights, and he explains to you that you are the girl of his dreams, don’t assume that means fulfilling your desires. Not if you're a queen. As a queen, you are placed on a pedestal and not to be touched!

Best of all, you have always more enemies than friends. Actually, you do not have friends at all.
I like being queen.
