Chris Bridges is an alumni of the 2022 London Writers Award. He previously wrote a weekly column for an LGBTQ+ lifestyle website and was a theatre reviewer for various sites. As a former NHS nurse with a hidden disability, he likes to feature the untold stories of sick, dying, and disabled people in his work and smash the trope of the passive disabled character with a background role.
When not writing, he can be found reading compulsively or walking his uptight poodle, Frida Kahlo.

Chris Bridges recommends

Darkrooms (2026)
Rebecca Hannigan
"This is a perfectly executed and exquisitely layered piece of literary crime fiction with two relatable and flawed protagonists. I was completely absorbed into this accomplished debut."

Lime Juice Money (2025)
Jo Morey
"This is a lush and evocative ride into the dark side of a paradise resort. Morey has woven a clever and propulsive story which sensitively depicts the experience of a protagonist with acquired hearing loss. This is elevated crime fiction at its best."

Tiny Daggers (2025)
Caroline Corcoran
"The opening of the book alone is attention grabbing and beautifully styled. Caroline Corcoran's skill at building up atmosphere and creating layered characters is enviable."
