The Chalet School Wins the Trick

Very Good, 1st Edition, 1961. Very good clean tight sound square, no bookplate, inscription or ownership marks, remarkably free from foxing or browning. In very good bright gilt ruled and lettered blue cloth, with like unclipped (7s6d) colour pictorial dustwrapper, featuring characteristic scene of straw hated Chalet girls in Swiss hills to upper and spine. Great shelf presence, with No. 46 denoting position in the Chalet School Series of 58. Evidently the dustwrapper has been preserved with a wrap, since removed, so is in very good clean crisp condition, with the very lightest of rubbing to corners and one small closed tear to head of joint not intruding or detracting. Pale ghost mark of sellotape remain to endpapers. Lower hinge slightly visible, but firmly held. A charming and nostalgic treat for reader and collector alike, in lovely condition, this volume would grace any library.
