GRENVILLE STARK IS IN DEEP TROUBLE AND TRAPPED IN A WORLD HE NEVER KNEW EXISTED.Grenville Stark, a wealth manager, wakes from a coma in a Queens hospital after his taxi is hit by a cement truck. He’s terrified of being arrested by the FBI as he’d stolen $1.8 billion from a brutal dictator’s account. Grenville’s plan was to fly to Switzerland and meet his wife there, but something has gone wrong - in a way he never could have imagined.
This is an America he doesn’t recognize, and he has no family or friends. He’d arrived at the emergency room with no money, no ID and no way to prove he’s a US citizen.
From the esteem of being a respected banker, Grenville is at the bottom – alone, broke, and desperately trying to navigate this unknown America. But he’s determined to get home. Yet who can he trust? What in this alternate USA does he have to fear?
