The Mercy of Gods (2024)
(Captive's War, book 1)
James S A Corey
"First contact, domestication experiments, and the knife-edge between appeasement and intel-gathering. Corey spins a gripping story where the twinned stakes are humanity's survival and the humanity of characters pushed to the brink by brutal intergalactic conquerors."

How to Become the Dark Lord (and Die Trying) (2024)
(Dark Lord Davi, book 1)
Django Wexler
"This book cold-cocked me out of the worst reading slump of my life, and I'm not just saying that to stay on Dark Lord Davi's dark side. Join the horde and read it!"

The Water Outlaws (2023)
(Water Outlaws, book 1)
S L Huang
"Intense, vivid, and insanely clever, with a great heroine--I couldn't put it down. If only more authors with math degrees used them like this!"
