K-PAX

A new patient brought to the hospital claims to be from the planet K-PAX. Psychiatrist Gene Brewer doesn't have a diagnosis for the man who calls himself "prot", but prot knows facts about space that confound experts, and his tales of K-PAX have other patients competing to go along with him when he goes "home".
