Susie Thorne spent her life becoming someone else. Now her survival depends on the woman she hid.
London, 1972
A locksmith's daughter from Camberwell, she has dressed, talked and worked her way into the MI5 boys club, where she's kept typing and fetching tea.
But when a surveillance operation ends with a dead Soviet courier on the Thames foreshore, Susie notices the one thing the entire intelligence establishment missed: the dead woman's coat is next-season Dior.
As she pulls that single elegant thread, her life unravels into a game of survival that takes her into Cold War Europe and a conspiracy at the heart of British power.
To survive, the woman who built her life on pretending to be someone else must become the one person she's spent years hiding: herself.
From the author of The Final Flight (2000+ reviews, 4.5 Stars), Spider is a page-turning spy thriller in the classic style of Mick Herron and John Le Carre.
