Whatever you do for a living, you can only do it for so long. Sooner or later it's time to call it a day. Time to hang up your gloves.

Or your garrote. Or your blunt instrument. Or your stiletto.

Whatever.

For Keller, the handwriting was definitely on the wall. His boss had been losing it for a while now,and Keller couldn't go on working for him. And he'd been putting money aside for years, so money wouldn't be a problem. Nor would he have trouble finding a way to get through the days, because he'd returned with a vengeance to the hobby he'd enjoyed as a child. Keller was a stamp collector, and there were plenty of stamps out there to keep him busy.

So what could go wrong?

"Keller in Retirement" appeared initially as the final chapter in Hit Man, the first of five episodic novels featuring Keller.
