An Appalachian ghost legend scares up a grisly murder

Deep in the Appalachian woods stands the old Fiddlesticks cabin, the scene of a bloody double murder from decades past. Supposedly haunted, it attracts young thrill seekers hoping to hear the killer's ghostly fiddle music. One such visit ends tragically when a college student is strangled to death - her flesh mutilated with bizarre symbols.

The victim is Lisa Wilson, daughter of a former North Carolina governor. The ball-busting politician will eat Pisgah County for breakfast until someone is convicted. Evidence leads to the indictment of Nick Stratton, the handsome raptor specialist who was Lisa's boss and not-so-secret crush.

Attorney Mary Crow, a county native with blood ties to the Cherokee nation, agrees to defend Nick. Did he do it, or is there a deranged mountain killer with a taste for pretty girls on the loose?
