The Bargain Bride

The young Earl of Blakeney is bankrupt. Back in England after serving bravely in the Duke of Wellington's army, he has lost everything at the gaming tables. At Blake Hall, the family house, he warns his sister Lady Aleda of the disastrous turn of events. Already the house has been stripped of paintings, silver and most of the furnishings. Then, quite unexpectedly, the mysterious Mr Winton offers to buy everything at a generous price, but only on condition that Aleda marries him.
