The Confessor

(1996)
A novel by

The caller has killed many times and now he wants to talk about it, and he'll only confess to DI Joe Morgan. And once he's started talking to Joe he can't stop...nor can he stop the killings. Every waif and stray is potential bait for The Confessor, and even an unwary journalist who thinks she can join in the game. As the calls become lengthier, and the net around him closes, The Confessor begins to think of himself as Joe's pal and as such that there is something Joe really needs to know about his disenchanted wife. It's something only your best friend would tell you and when The Confessor calls Joe takes note - they have become closer than he would have ever thought possible.
