Alex is a high school student. Between catching up with friends and running late for class, submitting assignments and sitting exams, his world should be simple, only it isn't. As a colonist, he's attending a high school built on an asteroid. It was brought into orbit around a water world in the Alpha Centauri star system. Life is good. Once a month, the students are taken on school trips, soaring through space from the artificial moon to the barren world below. Maths, Physics and English are his primary concerns, but when his girlfriend sneaks out on the surface of the asteroid, she finds two dead bodies in charred spacesuits. She panics. Alex is the only person she trusts, but who can Alex trust? The deaths are an enigma. Who are the dead students? Why were their bodies abandoned? Was it an accident? Or were they murdered? Two mummified corpses set in place a chain of events leading to First Contact.

FIRST CONTACT is a series of stand-alone novels that explore humanity's first interaction with extraterrestrial life. This series is similar to BLACK MIRROR or THE TWILIGHT ZONE in that the series is based on a common theme rather than common characters. This allows these books to be read in any order. Technically, they're all first as they all deal with how we might initially respond to contact with aliens, exploring the social, political, religious, and scientific aspects of First Contact.
