Keystone Village is in the Middle Ages! Linguist Ella Barton is excited to dust off her Middle English while keeping the locals from getting too curious about the town. She might even get to watch a jousting match or two through her binoculars.
But when a beloved madrigal falls ill under suspicious circumstances and one of their own is abducted across the boundary line, Ella and her merry band of misfits must do everything they can to rescue their friend—which means blending in with the medieval inhabitants.
As the Keystone Investigators navigate dysentery and a level of cleanliness that makes Six look like a paragon of hygiene, they quickly realize medieval life isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Many of the knights and nobles have reason to want the madrigal dead. With suspects lurking behind every suit of armor and motives as tangled as a jousting tournament, Ella and the gang must race against time to save their friend and unmask the attempted murderer before it’s too late.
