Vastly different worlds collide in the most unlikely of places.

Raised to fulfill a divine mission, Keller is committed to doing better than his father had in his time. The weight of his responsibility is stifling, but he is transcendent, the only one worthy to accomplish what his great grandfather built this community for 90 years ago. He could not fail. To that end, he determines that he must find new ways to connect his community to an outside world that he does not understand.

Arlie hasn't been back to Montana since her dad moved her to California as a kid. She never had any desire to come back, but choosing to offer support to her ailing mother will at least ensure she doesn't have any guilt about their fractured relationship. When she accidentally volunteers herself to write a story about the mysterious cult in the mountains, she meets a man there that isn't quite what she expected.

Despite his reluctance, Keller finds himself drawn to Arlie's abrupt and lively personality. He longs to learn more about her, but he's plagued by a fear that holds him back. Arlie, on the other hand, seems intent on dragging him down to hell with her, if only to have some temporary fun and unravel his secrets. Yet, as she spends more time with Keller, she begins to
see the person behind the charismatic façade, a man trapped in a world with a belief system instilled in him at birth and that defines his entire life.

Breaking free from the past requires a level of strength neither of them are sure they possess. If they can't stay away from each other, Keller's entire world might come crumbling down on top of him with Arlie stuck in the middle of it all.
