It’s Valentine’s Day weekend in the cozy Texas Hill Country town of Walnut Creek, and amateur sleuth, Fern Fischer, has never been more excited.
She’s the assistant director of the romantic Starry Night event, and this year, Fern is looking forward to spending the special evening with Edmund Hartman, the dashing and kind veterinarian.
Friends from Edmund’s past arrive in town—including one who seems to be romantically linked to him—and, dejected, Fern begins to question whether she’s made a major error in judgment.
Her apprehension grows when one of the newcomers is found dead, and despite her penchant for solving mysteries, Fern and her best pal Elliot resolve to keep their distance from this particular one.
Unfortunately circumstances take a turn, causing them to realize that they really have no choice but to become involved.
