When Harriet takes a job looking after Oliver, an android who looks just like a six-year-old boy, her aim is to earn enough money to leave her wealthy and abusive husband and start afresh. But she wasn’t aware Oliver would be so lifelike, and didn’t expect him to fill the void in her traumatic life. They develop such a close bond that Oliver isn’t merely a robot to her.
