Per the number on the cover, this is the 19th of Edson's 100-150 books. When he wrote it, he could still construct a half-decent story. It differs from most of his books in that his characters do seem to enjoy some off-the-page sex life. The books normally display a sexuality stalled just before adoescence, when girls are admired only if they can take their part in playground scraps.
