Shadow of Thunder

This is the crisp, taut, compelling story of a con man and a New Mexico ranch town in 1937. It tells of the catalytic and tragic effect this man and his mystique have on the life of a community and on the lives of a young and childless couple in the community. Shadow of Thunder impacts against a background of tension between ranchers and nesters and against an undercurrent of tension between a husband who lives with the memories of what a bad cattle year can do to a man and expectations of what fruitful years can bring, and a wife who lives with identical memories and expectations...but gives such different meaning to them.
