The seventh book in a brand new Western adventure series from Dave P. Fisher!

Summer brought the birth of Teresa and Nolan’s baby boy, Levi’s planned wedding to Gabriela Behar, and a good calf crop, all of which spelled good fortune for the partners of the Dragoon Mountain Cattle Company. Miguel Behar had sent three of his carpenters to build his daughter and Levi a good house, and Venacio and Carlos were making progress on a well.

Felipe sent a carriage to bring his daughters, and new grandson, to the Zamora hacienda. Nolan, Levi, Tom, and Mateo would go along, Billy would stay to oversee the cattle, and Rio, one of the Zamora vaqueros, would help him.

Two days at the Zamora hacienda, Nolan and Mateo rode back to their ranch to check on Billy and the others. Arriving at the ranch they found it like a ghost town, everyone was gone, they had vanished. Everything was in place except the people. Nolan was perplexed and bewildered until they found Manda hiding under a bed, she told them of men who had come and taken everyone away.

From his experience in New Mexico, Mateo knew who they were. Slavers. Bands of banditos who raided villages for captives to sell as slaves to the corrupt mine owners in Mexico. They had hit the ranch, but Nolan suspected a targeted attack from one of their enemies. The slavers had made two fatal mistakes, first, they took Billy, and second, they missed Nolan and the other Dragoon men. Those were the last mistakes they would ever make.
