The thirteenth Seaver And Long Rider Western adventure from Dave P. Fisher!
The first thoroughbred foal, the beginning of the race horse line, was due, keeping Jack on the ranch while Lucienne, Martha, and Helen traveled to town to make wedding arrangements. Jack was apprehensive about their trip without him, but Chris, Perry, and Long Rider were riding escort for them. They would be in good hands, but his sixth sense, warning him of danger, persisted.
His fears were realized when Long Rider rode in late. There had been a failed bank robbery, people were dead, and Lucienne and Chris had been in the bank. Perry had seen the robbers escaping, and he knew who they were. So started the hunt for the killers.
Jack, Long Rider, and Perry left town determined to kill every one of the robbers, but circumstances dictated a turn of purpose. Encountering Rangers Allen and Dixon, who were also on the hunt, Allen told them in no uncertain terms, ‘Times are changing, you need to change with them, bring them in alive.’ On those words, the futures of the three men stood at a crossroads, should they continue taking care of business as they always had, or was Allen right, the law of the badge was replacing the law of the gun? The next days were to answer that question.
