Mystery writer Constance White is found murdered at her desk. Her last book, The Crimson Corpse, rumoured to contain thinly disguised versions of people she knew. Something she strenuously denied.
Tyler and Mills, investigating the murder, discover the writer had a back story as rich as her novels. Multiple marriages and numerous affairs. In recent interviews, she claimed to knowwhere the bodies are buried.

The case gains huge media attention, the area swarming with tourists. Chief Superintendant Berkins is under pressure, and when a prime suspect emerges Berkins demands swift, decisive action. But DCI Tyler doesn’t believe they have their man.
