The murder charges had been dropped; the ankle bracelet, removed.
Morgan Jones was finally free... And then the fire broke out.

Morgan couldn’t believe her luck.
Just when she thought things had turned around, the fires started. What began as one, grew into more — all involving homes that her boss, Paul, had designed and she had built. WIth no one knowing whether the fires were caused by faulty equipment or were the work of an arsonist, Morgan was banned from the sites until the fire investigator gave the all clear. Until that time, the burn sites were considered potential crime scenes, and Morgan was not only persona non grata, but a possible suspect as well. She’d literally gone from the frying pan into the fire…

With damages and danger quickly escalating, Morgan knew that time was of the essence. Detective Prescott’s hands were tied until the cause of the fires was determined, and that would take time — time the company couldn’t afford to lose. Rumors were spreading among the Dallas Diamonds, and Paul’s reputation, as well as hers, was at stake. Having thought her days of investigating were over, Morgan had been looking forward to retiring the murder board, and putting a safe distance between herself and her self-appointed partner — the charismatic billionaire, Justin Dulac. But no… it was not to be.

Faced with no other option, Morgan was forced to look into the crimes herself, tracking down leads and hunting for the person responsible for setting the fires. The inspectors might have thought otherwise, but Morgan knew the fires weren’t due to faulty equipment. They were the work of someone with a grudge against either Paul or herself. With Dulac’s help, she knew she could find him. The only question was whether they could stop him before everything she cared about, went up in flames…
