A Dead Herring
(2023)(The sixth book in the Right Royal Cozy Investigation series)
A novel by Helen Golden
Just when Lady Beatrice thought she was finally rid of Detective Chief Inspector Richard Fitzwilliam, fate has other ideas.
While Bea oversees a refurbishment project at Drew Castle with her best friend Perry, Simon is busy planning a surprise of his own, Daisy, Bea’s Westie, is making herself at home, and the biggest challenge on Bea’s horizon should be surviving one of her brother’s shooting parties taking place at the same time.
Then one of the guests is found dead.
As a blizzard cuts the castle off from the outside world, Bea resigns herself to being trapped with a murderer. What she doesn’t expect is for the only detective able to reach the castle to be Detective Chief Inspector Richard Fitzwilliam.
Just her luck.
With no access to his usual team and a castle full of suspects, Fitzwilliam reluctantly asks Bea, Perry, and Simon for help. Working together isn’t exactly either of their first choices, but with tensions rising, secrets emerging, and nowhere for the killer to hide, there is no alternative.
Because beneath Drew Castle’s elegant rooms, roaring fires, and picture-perfect winter setting, someone is hiding a deadly secret.
A charming cozy mystery filled with a snowed-in Scottish castle, friendship, laugh-out-loud humour, an exasperating detective, a determined royal sleuth, a clever little dog, and enough twists to leave everyone out in the cold.
Genre: Cozy Mystery
