Prince of Nowhere

(2011)
A Novella by

What happened after King Arthur died? Who inherited the great sword Excalibur? Could the heir be a runaway prince, his home now sunk beneath the sea, his only companions an uppity servant and a certain ragamuffin he found caught in a rabbit trap? Why would Destiny place so mighty a weapon in the hands of a young man reduced to acting for a living? Destiny has her ways, it seems. Prince Lowen of Lyonnais may be but a player strolling the roads of chaotic Dark Ages England, but he has a good heart and a winning manner, and prophecy is on his side. Arriving in a small northern kingdom which haslost its army and must therefore defend itself using tricks straight out of fairy tales, Lowen captures the heart of the king s daughter, and marriage beckons. But so does death. Already in love with the princess is Morgan, the most redoubtable knight in Britain, who has slain many of her suitors and seemingly would not mind adding Lowen to the list. Deadly combat must surely ensue. Swords will be wielded, and each has a deadly edge. And so may magic . . .
