Friends & Enemies is the third Agent Kat Polinski Thriller and the second Thriller Short, third featuring the vulnerable, driven and no compromise heroine, Kat Polinski and her shadowy Federal Containment Agency in Washington D.C. Having broken off a stultifying relationship, Kat buys an apartment in Washington with her best friend, Dr Jennifer Fox, a trauma surgeon who, like Kat, travels to the world’s trouble spots. In Iraq, Jennifer is kidnapped. Kat and her boss, Bill Cage, are determined to use whatever methods necessary to bring her home safely. But the kidnappers are one step ahead and Kat is faced with the most devastating of choices. The first Agent Kat Polinski Thriller is Security Breach, set against a world of total surveillance and highly commended for its fast pace, depth of character and credible insight. Wherever Kat fights evil, whether over North Korea, Iraq, Kazakhstan or at home in the United States, Humphrey Hawksley has deep knowledge of the subject.
