Keepers of the Kingdom

(2020)
(The sixth book in the Maile Spencer Honolulu Tour Guide Mystery series)
A novel by

Tour guide Maile Spencer enlists the help of two young friends in her search for precious Hawaiian artifacts.

Time is running short when the sun rises on Honolulu's biggest wedding in years, and Maile is one of the bridesmaids. Flower garlands line the aisle, silly bridal party games are played, and pangs of jealousy stab at innocent hearts. But while the church is filled with hope and expectations, tears are shed when panic attacks the bride. Two royal kahili, feathered standards that decorate the church, are missing and no one seems to know where they've gone. Seemingly insignificant to everyone else, the bride has a meltdown over the lost icons. When the investigation starts, the police yawn, the reverend shrugs his shoulders, museum experts hide behind masks, and Maile gets the kiss of a lifetime. A pack of foreigners show up, a nymph plays in the pool below a waterfall, someone peeks out of a closet door, and a hooker goes to jail. Oh, and I should mention that when the wedding finally rolls around, something even more important than the kahili is missing.

Just another day in Maile's life...except that kiss she can't quite put out of her mind.
