Emily Grey feels that she looks like her name--grey--so she escapes into her own fantasy world and soon meets the amazing Powers family. The Powers are time-travelers, who assist Emily as she tries to save her most precious possession, her neighborhood library. In a wonderful love story about a library and the array of people protesting--having old-fashioned sleep-ins and demonstrations to preserve it--Lederer (a stand-up comedian) presents all of the characters splendidly. However, her greatest achievement is replicating young British voices, which have a melodious quality that few can capture. Because conversation between the Earthlings and the time-travelers is so important to the story, an audio presentation of this book, with its doubly resonant title, is perfect.
