Life in the Old Dog Yet
(2027)(The ninth book in the Albert Smith's Mystery Thrillers series)
A novel by Steve Higgs
Everyone is lying. Even the one person telling the truth.
Albert Smith wants a quiet week to recuperate, but within minutes of arriving in Naples, he’s witness to a kidnapping and the only one close enough to stop it.
Invited to dinner by the young woman’s grateful grandfather, one of the city’s most respected and influential philanthropists, Albert can see no reason not to accept.
But he soon gets one.
In the form of a break in and a murder.
The thief took a priceless jewel and left a trail of clues. It looks like an open-and-shut case and one that will be easy for Albert to solve, but he soon comes to realise that if he’s wrong, the murders might have only just begun.
Fed a diet of lies by people who are counting on his age to slow him down, Albert Smith must prove that there's life in the old dog yet.
Genre: Mystery
