The World Trench

(2026)
(The second book in the Undercover Starship series)
A novel by

John Tanner is on his way to Sector HQ. He knows the Galactic Patrol seldom accepts candidates from primitive worlds like Earth, so he needs an edge and a sponsor—and that man is Starn, a Senior Lawman rotting in a cell on Thalos Space Station.

The problem is that Thalos is a drug pipeline and a clearinghouse for pirates, run by officials who take a cut of both.

That means freeing Starn stirs up a hornet’s nest. To escape, John drops into the world trench below—a wound in the planet’s crust, and a place with a horrible but highly profitable secret.

Somebody has found a way to turn slaughter into extended life, and the thugs running it aren’t going to let a rookie from Earth shut it down.

It’s kill or be killed at the bottom of the trench, and the wannabe Lawman is a long way from anyone who’d come looking.
