Once at the fort, Thurston founf the conditions worse thn the name; the Sioux and Cheyennes were on the brink of unleashing an attack, and the commanding officer was a raving drunkard. but Thurston was in for even more trouble when an old enemy of his arrived at the fort, married to a woman who had once been Thurston's love
