WHEN LOIS WAS NINE YEARS OLD, she was called to be a writer. She has written 38 books and hundreds of shorter pieces for children, young people, and adults. Although targeted for boys and girls ages ten and older, her novels are read by all ages. Lois' books support family values and promote universal themes such as self-respect, caring for others, and coping with peer pressure. Parents and educators trust her books, and readers of all ages love them. They feature fast-paced adventure and realistically lived values. Published in English-speaking countries throughout the world, Lois' work has been translated into 12 languages, and has received numerous awards. She is grateful for readers who have written from over forty countries to say, "I love your books. I can't put them down!" and "Your books changed by life!" Lois not only cares deeply about young people, she wants to make reading fun! She and her husband, Roy, live in Minnesota and are parents of three married children.
