Evidentially Guilty

(2004)
A novel by

When Jerome Dean left home, he had reason to expect an enjoyable day, having been invited to a shoot at Ester. It was an expectation soon dashed. When the gun next to him fired low, a man rose out of a patch of brambles and collapsed, later to die in hospital. It was the beginning of a persecution which threatened Dean and his family. A persecution the police could not halt because although they became certain they knew the identity of the persecutor, there was no legal proof to allow them to take any action - even when it became certain murder was intended.
