Murder At The Fingerpost
(2026)(The second book in the Hilary Stamp series)
A novel by Douglas Lindsay
Stabbed multiple times, Rev. Justin Hill is left to die by the fingerpost on the edge of a small coastal village, which is mourning the recent loss of a fishing vessel and its crew. With his last breath, Hill reaches out and points in the direction of the old manor house, where a woman lives alone, largely cut off from society.
The investigation into Hill’s murder does not last long. Lacking suspects, motive, or any clues to the killer’s identity, the police are baffled, and soon the detectives are withdrawn.
Into this village of suspicion and intrigue, where a flat, grey sea stretches to a distant horizon, and a mysterious light appears sporadically offshore, come private investigator Hilary Stamp and her assistant, Elizabeth Seymour. The village, however, does not want to talk to a private detective.
Tensions rise, mystery is layered upon mystery, and inevitably, before long, the killer strikes again
Genre: Cozy Mystery
