Born in Ontario, Iain Lawrence now lives in a remote radio-transmission site on an island off Prince Rupert, British Columbia. Lawrence is a former journalist who now writes full time. An avid sailor, Lawrence spends much of his time traveling by boat. The inspiration for his novel The Wreckers came from his favourite childhood books, Treasure Island and Moonfleet.
