Shall We Send Flowers?

(1976)
A novel by

When Mrs Emory Cranston died of heart failure in a bachelor's hotel room, the considerable wealth of the Cranston family was exercised to prevent a scandal. After hanky-panky with Mrs. Cranston's pills had been discovered, Captain Clay of Homicide felt obliged to investigate. A simple case of heart failure soon looked improbable, and the gunshot death of the Cranston housekeeper, and the re-appearance in town of a cast-off lover, further complicated the affair.
