Rage...grief...betrayal...vengeance
A ferocious, bloody firefight on a remote Scottish island scorched Gabriel Wolfes soul to cinders. It left him a broken man, consumed by rage against his unseen enemies. Now he holds two lives in his hands. His own. And that of the woman who betrayed everything he ever held dear. Everything he ever believed in. Everything he ever loved.
Vengeance used to mean something to him. But now he sees it is a hollow trophy. He wants Margot McDonnell to pay the ultimate price for her crimes. But deep down, in the dark, screaming places he struggles to avoid in his nightmares, he knows it will do no good. Whats done is done. Whats past is past. And what is lost. Is lost.
He has already given away his cars. Settled his affairs. Prepared for what comes next. Before him, the components of a powerful bomb. He assembles it. Tests the detonator. Carries it out to the boat. And sets sail for one final trip.
This is the outcome some very powerful people have been praying for. The end of Gabriel Wolfe. With him dead, they are free at last. As he waves to some children playing on the beach, he sets the timer for seven seconds.
Readers opinions of other books in this best-selling series
Would recommend this to all people who enjoy the idea of having "heroes" in our midst without all the hype.
David James Frearson
Im a avid fan of Child, Patterson and the like - but the number of good thrillers in existence is finite, so I'm constantly on the hunt for the 'Next Big Thing' (author-wise)... And I've found him. Andy Maslen's first book, Trigger Point is excellent: and this one is even better. Brilliant stuff - I'm hooked, and I like it.
Dr S Lewis
Love the vulnerability of the lead character and the continuing relationships with others from the first book. Now going for book three!
Terry Maywood
The fourteenth book in an enthralling series
This fast-paced, thriller is packed full of break-neck action. Be prepared to lose sleep as you promise yourself just one more chapter.
A hero like no other
Readers have compared Wolfe to other familiar action heroes. Jack Reacher. John Milton. Ben Hope. Spider Shepherd. Mitch Rapp. But in truth he is his own man.
He's no super-soldier or indestructible man-mountain. If he's shot, he bleeds ... and he hurts. His PTSD, which he battles along with his countrys enemies, gives his missions a sharper edge.
But make no mistake. Wolfe is a good man to have on your side in a tight spot. And he always finds time to help those in trouble, whether or not they are paying for his services.
