The war in the Pacific rages on land, sea and in the air. The Marines are pitched into the worst of the fighting.  back. And one marine, Jesse Ferrell, fights back with a fury that takes the Japs by surprise.

The loss of his beloved brother during the landings at Guadalcanal affected him deeply, and each time he wades ashore to fight the next fierce battle his determination burns with a fierce intensity. A determination to fight for his unit, for the Marine Corps, for the nation and for the memory of his brother. This time they land on an atoll named Majuro. Just a pinprick in the Pacific ocean, but a pinprick with a strong Japanese garrison determined to throw them back into the sea.

Amongst that garrison is an officer, Captain Toshiro Arinaga of the Imperial Japanese army. A man with scant regard for human life. An officer who holds a pretty local girl prisoner in a dark tunnel. Until he encounters Ferrell, and rather than have her rescued by the American he executes her with a razor-sharp samurai sword. He runs away before Ferrell can reach him, but as the two armies clash for the deciding battle, the two men meet again. The Jap still carries the sword, and he faces Ferrell who is apparently unarmed. The resulting fight will be to the death. A fight that will decide whether a murdering SOB gets what’s coming to him, or whether he will he walk away to mutilate and murder more innocent girls.
