The year is 475 AD.
Wishing to reclaim his lands in the north, Ragnar returns to Italia to recruit warriors loyal to Odovaker.
But the West has problems of its own. Trouble is brewing between Orestes, the master of soldiers, and the barbarian mercenaries under his command, leaving Odovaker unable to provide Ragnar with the men he needs to have his revenge on Othere.
In the Eastern Empire, the situation is even more dire, necessitating Trokondas to seek Ragnar’s help. Soon Ragnar and his friends are coerced into accepting a mission, the outcome of which will determine the fate of both parts of the Empire.
